Chairman’s Letter

Dear Friends:

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Essex Chapter of the Order of the Friendly
Sons of the Shillelagh will hold its 56th Annual Dinner Dance at The Hanover
Manor in East Hanover, NJ from 6:00 to 11:00 PM. Our dance has become a
warm tradition and one of the top social events on the Irish American calendar,
and this year will be no exception. The evening will include a 90-minute
premium cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner, a 5-hour open bar, and live
entertainment throughout the night with additional performances by the Essex
Shillelagh Pipes & Drums.

It is with much pride that we announce Tom Fleming and Chris Wightman as our 2026 distinguished honorees. Both are dedicated longtime loyal members
who have tirelessly served the Irish American community at large. They are
individuals who represent the best of Irish and American values and are well
deserved Shillelagh Men of the Year.

Our 2026 Friends of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh are the Ironbound Irish
American Association. They are strong supporters of our Order and have been
invaluable in providing resources and support for the success of the many
charitable events at the club and in the greater Newark community. The
Ironbound Irish mirror many of our values and foster Irish culture while serving
to meet the charitable needs of so many in the surrounding communities.
To help remember our Dinner Dance, we will publish a commemorative journal.

tickets to the dance please contact any member of the committee, order on-line

advertisement and ticket request forms. Or you can simply scan the provided QR
code and follow the instructions. As a kind reminder, there will be limit to the
number of tickets being sold, so please act early!
